Subterranean Homesick German

Is it obvious enough that I did this comic at a time when I wasn’t feeling so hot?  I’ve been sitting on this one for a couple weeks but didn’t have the huevos to finish it up, so I just held onto it and waited for a direction to make itself clear.

Oddly enough, a few days ago, I completed a comic instead of sleeping a few days ago (the previously mentioned strip for the “Guest Strip Project”) and was filled with a feeling of satisfaction related to art I hadn’t felt in years.  Perhaps it was because I drew the strip in a style different than my usual, but in any event it was great to remember how it feels to love doing art.  Many mental stumbling blocks have been removed, and inspiration has been leaking from everyplace!  Yes, even THAT place!  So I’m quickly going to finish up the few strips I’ve had in the pipes and pursue my new instincts for this comic.

So, to task:  I thought black and white would suit the bleak tone of this one better than color.  And I don’t think there’s such a food as Blutbraten (which translates into bloodmeat or something similar) but I wanted something that sounded both German and unappealing, not German and delicious like SO MANY things in this world.

Also, the poster above Damian is for the movie “Silent Night Deadly Night 2″ wherein is one of the most ridiculous (but profoundly awesome) scenes I’ve seen in any movie in my life.  I’ll post a link to the video in my blizneezy.

So, thanks for reading this far.  You and me, we’re going straight to the top!  And yes, I mean window-washing jobs!

I’ve had mornings like that but food never got me out of bed, it is usually the dog going insane wanting to be fed!
