I’ll Be Mellow When I’m Dead

I think the thing that took the longest on this comic (once I actually got around to doing it) was making sure I reproduced the album art correctly.  Anyone who knows me knows that music is my passion, and I should probably be doing that instead of making comics.  But alas, here we are.  Anyhow, Steven is holding the Weird Al album “Dare to Be Stupid,” Damian is holding the music to “Les Miserables,” and Eric is holding Neutral Milk Hotel’s album “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea,” which happens to be my all time favorite album of music.  I could yak about its merits for paragraphs, and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who feels like music has shortchanged them.  Granted, it’s no “Lipgloss” or “I Got it From my Mama,” but what can compete with that stuff?

I want music to be a more central focus of this comic, and perhaps it will be soon.  I also want to start going with some character development.  I’ve done many sketches pertinent to character growth that span several story arcs, but I haven’t done any yet because I’m still attempting to make strips to comprise a decent portfolio to send off to comic syndicates.  But once I come back down to Earth I’ll get started on those.  For now, optimism fuels my engine.

We have to be best friends.
I had never heard of Neutral Milk Hotel, but I just listened to some of their stuff (per your glowing review) and now absolutely adore them.

Most definitely, a best friendship works for me. I’ve been yearning for someone to tell my secrets (usually about how much I hate my friends. Just joking.)!

Seriously, I’m glad to be able to turn people onto quality music, and Neutral Milk Hotel is a band people would benefit from hearing.

Ah, music is the bane of my existance. Only because for the last 2 weeks I’ve been uploading music to my itunes…just got my first ipod ;p and I’ve only got about 20% of my music is up. Deep sigh. Good comic. I likes. Hilarious.
